Being in desperate need of some practice games I joined in a free 1 day event that was being run by Age of Strife. 3 games with random match-up against6 a group of half Roll With It, half Age of Strife guys.

Game 1 – IG: Multiple Objectives

This wasn’t the most optimised IG list but it still had 3 Vendetta’s and plenty of Chimera’s to go at. It was multiple objectives and Pitched Battle deployment. I must say my opponents’ army was really well painted and it was a pleasure to play against. In the end I was aggressive with my movement early on using my 18” fast move to take the mid field where the majority of the objectives where. I priorities the Vendetta’s and managed to hold my ground for a 16 -4 Win (Scout Bikers taking down a Vendetta was a highlight for me).

Game 2 – Dark Angels – Jason: Kill Points

Due to the random match-up I found myself playing a fellow club member Jason and his Dark Angels. His list is very fluffy and the game was a miss match really which I think neither of us enjoyed too much. We decided to call is at the end of turn 3, 20 – 0 Win

Game 3 – IG: Bore Draw

This was an excellent game that was bloody on both sides. There must have been around 6 Chimera’s carrying Melta or Plasma death of some description. He was aware of the Scout Biker threat and bubble wrapped his units in throw away guardsmen. But the Bikers took that away opening the path for Mephiston to get among his lines dropping a tank per turn. Even though neither of us had much left my Terminators and Mephiston were still alive, I help his objective and contested my own meaning I took a win and had the superior VP’s.  It was either a 15-5 or 14-6 Win.

Summary

Even though it was a friendly event where the net lists stayed at home it was good practice just getting my army on the table for 3 games. In the end I turned out I Won the event ! and even better there was some prize support kingly donated by www.gamingfigures.com  and www.giftsforgeeks.org.uk in the shape of £20 voucher and an Army Case !! Perfect for my new Black Templars to move around in.

Great fun event played in a great spirit, I’m sorry I had to dash off at the end and couldn’t stay for drinks and socialising. Cheers to Stunty from Age of Strife for organising the whole thing.
